  • what size is this

i don't want to start another super long exhaust thread, but i have a couple size questions. i was looking in a jeg's catalog and i saw that they only list the flowmaster catbacks, and dynomax catbacks, for the lt1. i know i can use them on my 3.4l, but what size are those catbacks? i want a 2.5" not 3". thanks

Dynomax doesn't seem to make a 2.5" catback (and I don't think Flowmaster does, either) but here's what you can do.

      Order:
      -Dynomax P/N 47696 - That's your 2.5" I-pipe, mandrel bent. :D You can find it on RaceSearch.com for $68.99.
-Dynomax P/N 17739 - SuperTurbo muffler, 2.5" inlet and dual 2.5" outlet. I'd probably go to Jegs.com for this one. They list it for $49.99.

Other than that you're just missing the tips, the tubing to run from the muffler to the tips, and possibly the s-bend before the I-pipe. Tips you can buy whichever you like from wherever. Pipes going from muffler to tips I'd just have your exhaust shop do when you put on the exhaust (don't know cost on that, shouldn't be much). The s-bend I was told by Dynomax is part of that I-pipe, but someone who had bought it told me it was not. I'm going to have my exhaust shop just weld up two 2.5" 45-degree mandrel bends to form it (figure about $18 each or so...).

Anyway, hope that helps. Just add cost of labor to that. Oh, and you could also buy a 2.5" in/out Catco high flow catalytic converter from SummitRacing.com for just $62.

Try JC Whitney for high flow cats too.
