YOU DONT HAVE TO SPEND $800 ON A BORLA SYSTEM. I hate when people say this. You can find a used 2.75 inch I pipe for either really cheap or free from one of the V8 guys, and buy the borla rear section...as I did. If you want the adjustable, you should find a used borla system. It is high priced because it will never rust, has the best looking tips, and sounds the best. Just dont be a fool and pay $800 or however much it costs retail. I think its somewhere around $600 anyway.

Dynomax SuperTurbo Muffler: $45
Catco High-Flow Catalytic Converter: $60
2.75" I-pipe off a Z28: Free-$20 (depends how much previous owner is willing to depart with it for)
Tips: $70
Install of all items: $120
I spent 440 on mine and did just what you are looking to do.
-High flow cat $50
-Dynomax Muffler $126
-Tips $80
-Cut out $25
-Tail pipes $40
- I & S pipes $80
- installation $39
If you don't put on the cut-out(counting the installation of it)you can get it down below 400 probably. And you don't have to put on a new cat. so you could prolly get this down a little below 350 since thats just another thing you won't have to buy and install.
Hope this helps :D

Thanks guys. What is the exact model # of the Dynomax muffler I should get? Then I just need a 2.5 I-pipe and some tips (assuming I'm gonna skip the cat replacement. Do I need an S pipe? Where exactly does that go?

Holy cheese! ;) Those things are only $45! I sure hope that includes a lot more than just the muffler... (You know, like having the car detailed and the tank filled too...)

I believe the PN is 17739. You can check that on Dynomax.com. They have an application guide for the SuperTurbo mufflers online you can look through. It was also posted just the other day, so you could do a search too.
Also, the 2.5" I-pipe is hard to come by. (A mandrel-bent one that is, which is the only way to go that makes sense for 2.5" diameter.) I'd suggest you either get a 2.75" pipe off a Z28 or TransAm or something (which you can get for cheap off the previous owner), or else the 3" pipe from Dynomax. I don't think the 3" Dynomax pipe comes with the S-bend. You'll want to replace the S-bend though, so just get two 3" dia. 90-degree mandrel bends.
