  • LT1 magnaflo cat-back 4 3.8L

ok well i have a 99 auto camaro n the time/money has finally come for me to decide whether i should go 4 the LT1 set-up, so i have a few more questions:

does it rattle against the rear end?
is it worth the trouble to get that over the 3.8 edition?
is the install much harder then with a normal cat-back?

thx for ur help, i promise this is my last topic about this

it will rattle against 1 of the braces, i just took it off, you dont really need it.

other than that, its fine, remember, you have the same body/chassis as the z28, so as far as space is concerned, you'll be fine

i have no rattles. i got an ses code after converting to the full 3" LT1 with new 3x3 cat.
a $45 sim fixes the SES problem.

the car is faster and louder.

it is harder to do a full conversion over just a v6 catback. it is not hard, however. I guess it is relative to skill. It took me 4 hours to get the car off the ground and back down with everything installed. I then drove the car and jacked it back up the next day to retighten and adjust theclamps. I suggest using the clamps for initial install. if after a week you have no rattles then go in and have it all welded up.

point the ubolt clamps UP whenever possible to give greater ground clearance.

I have a guide for the magnaflow LT1 on my website.

if you do a full 3" exhaust don't forget to buy a cat with a rear 02 boss in it. that will save you some money and some time.
