performance upgrade ideas?

i have a 1992 camaro rs 3.1L V6 and i am just starting to get into cars and the whole performance field. i know very little and would like some help. so if anyone has any ideas or hints that they can throw my way it would be greatly appriciated

exhaust/hiflowcat/headers/some form of CAI. if you have the money.. turbo it or add nitrous. i would say more but i dont know much about your gen camaro.

ive put a helix and a k&n airflow system in my 3.8 v6 and also magnaflow duals and i can tell alot of difference in my take off and acceleration

naw mines a v6 and i though underdrive pulley kits messed up your alternator

Underdrive Pulleys are pointless unless you are desperate for power.If 2 horses to the wheels is more important to you than:

Lower battery voltage
Hotter engine temps
Harder steering
Hotter AC
Increased emissions

More power to you

could probably try a performance chip and thermostat, heck you could even just cut off your catylic converter but that would cut your gas mileage down but thats the price for more horsepower

Gears will change the way the car reacts to your for on the pedal. If you have 3.08's now and go to anything lower (numericaly high) like 3.42's or 4.10's the car will feel like it has more low end power and accelerate quicker.

Save your money, I don't see why you would want to mod a 3.1 third gen camaro. Even the 5.0 is slow think of the 3.1........ TO each there own.

Well, I always made the best with what I had. Try driving a 2.8 sometime....(One of the f-bodies I used to own) So I say go for it if you want to. I put in 3:42's and really like them. I had 3:08's. Any car with a free flow exaust will wake up and run better. Good luck, keep us posted. [img]smile.gif[/img]
