I did what you said and finally got it out. My car is running fine without it so far. No bad idle, SES light or nothing. Is it my imagination or did your exhaust seemed it got a little deeper when you took your MAF out?

I didn't notice a change in the exhaust sound, only a change in hp/torque on the dyno...2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

May not be exhaust you're hearing. When you get rid of the silencers in the intake, you get a deeper sounding engine. It's from the cam overlap letting exhaust out your intake. The maf also restricted the sound of the exhaust. I've seen people with a little deeper sound above 2000 rpm that have removed their maf.2001 Arctic White Firebird
T-Tops, 3.42 rear gear stock
Mods:K&N Air Filter,Whisper Air Induction Lid, maf screen removed, raised air box, Kumho Ecsta 712 255-50-ZR16 tires, BMR stb
Mods not installed yet: FTRA, SLP Lsd/Differential cover
Near Future Mods: HPP3, GMMG 3\" Exhaust , 1LE Swaybars, Transgo Shift Kit, MSD-DIS-4 w/ Accel Coil-Packs, Turquoise Blue Neon Underbody Kit, BMR Adj.
