When my old intake broke, I installed a custom intake that I still have installed now with no problems. I wouldn't recommend taking out the MAF screen though if you do b/c the idle might get rough. Anyways here's what I did:
1. Bought 4" flexible ducting from Home Depot, made a 90" elbow from the throttle body to the right that fits nicely.
2. Bought a 3" 90" street elbow (PVC solid core) from home depot, wedged it between the radiator and the ABS unit (keeps it flowing nicely and wont get crushed between the radiator like the aluminum piping might) The 4" aluminum ducting slips over the non-street end part of the 3" pipe.
3. Bought and installed a discount auto Intimidator filter on the 3" street-end side of the pipe, it slipped in and sealed perfectly.
4. I clamped the tubing on the throttle body and the 3" pipe, voila and it works perfectly and sounds good.
