When I had the gutted cat in, the tone was a little deeper, but not much. The gutted cat acts as a resonation chamber, changing the tone of the exhaust. As far as performance, I couldn't tell any difference. I have the straight pipe on now because the ground clearance is a little better with it.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

My gutted cat sounded all ricey and nasty, but once I got my straight pipe on (2.5 inch spread to fit 2.5 inside(Y-pipe), and shrunk to fit 2.25 inside(I-pipe) and 22.5 to 23 inches long) It sounded tons better. No difference in performance. But it sounded way better. I had to saw the end of the I pipe off, where it meets the cat, and I tried clamping it a couple times. Just ended up ruining a couple straight pipes. Just weld it up, trust me. I left a clamp on the Y-pipe so I can drop it off at the track. It's way too loud for the city when it's detached, but it helps about .2 at the track.
