• Are these typical gains for my mods?

    Just wondering:

    Bone stock my 97 A4 Rs w/open 3.08s went 15.98@84.7

with a homemade CAI (3" mandrel bent steel tubing and a 6" K&N cone filter) Relocated IAT sensor, Open exhaust after the cat and a B&M transpak the car went 15.21 @89.x with a 2.4 60'.

now the car has a set of open pacesetter headers (yeah, it's overly loud and sounds like ***, i know) the car hasn't been run at the track yet (opens Feb 26th) but has pulled 1.5-2 car lengths on my friend's neon ACR (14.70s @ 93-94) from a 50-100ish roll. Against my friends 200SER that runs 15.20s @ 91 it pulls 3-4 car lengths on him from a 0-100 kick and pulls about 4 car lengths from a 50 mph roll...

So at the track i'm hoping for 14.75s-14.90s @ 93-94ish MPH (based on what i have to compare it against)

Are these gains typical of what I should be seeing and are my assumptions correct?

you would be pulling your estimated times or better if you could get better than a 2.4 short time. running your friends up on the interstate has a lot more to do with gearing than power.

if you get that 60' time down to something like a 2.1-2.2 you'd be looking at high 14s for sure... you might need another mile per hour, though.

its an auto, you wont be trapping that high, you may run a high 14 around 90-91mph.

you will not be running faster than your friends. street racing has no reflection on track times

I must say, those are AMAZING times for pulling a 2.4 60 foot.

              I'm running 15'4s with my 2.0x 60 foots...and I have a stall converter!

well he's in ohio, being cold up there he won't get any traction to amount to anything so his 60' will suck, but once he gets off the line he will be unusally fast with that cold air.

The only thing he has different than me is that open exhaust and relocated IAT. I don't see how in the heck it must be giving him 3 more MPH in the traps.

Obviously the cold air... :D more power to him.
