  • BorlaMouth and Fast Toys Tips coming!

My car went into the shop today to get my last bit of exhaust tweeking done (hopefully!). I'm putting on a Borla XR-1 bullet muffler in place of the SLP resonator that came with the LM. And I'm replacing the chinsy LM tips with Fast Toys ones. I'll have pics up as soon as I can and the word on what the Borla muffler does for my setup. So look forward to it!!

Well I'm sorry fellas but I don't have a digital camera/sound recorder so you'll just have to take my word for it! So it's done and the difference is very noticable! The shop guy did say the bullet fit very snuggly in place of the old resonator but I didn't lose that much ground clearance really. The sound is still pretty loud, not much quieter than before in terms of decibles BUT the tone is much different... I said goodbye to Mr. Rasp cuz the Borla totally muffled it out, even at high rpms!! The overall done is deeper and much more mellow. The idle/cruising sound is noticably quieter and the interior drone is minimal. I love it to death and now I have less headaches/tickets to worry about!

The shop only charged me for an hour's work to weld the bullet and my new tips on, not a bad deal. Gotta give my shout out to Little Tire of Fredericksburg, Va (the one on Princess Anne St). Again, sorry I can't get a sound clip for you guys but from hearing someone else's V6 with a Dynomouth I can tell you the Borla makes a REAL difference. Pay the extra money LM owners, and get a BorlaMouth! Or don't, cuz I kinda feel cool being one of the only 3.8L guys that does have one!

I dunno, probably not along with the LM cuz it's still pretty loud. But I'd have to say it's the best constructed bullet I've ever seen, very nice indeed!

you say it makes it sound deeper and gets rid of the rasp, but is it throatier than before? or is it even less throaty?
