  • Cat shield rattle

The heat shield or whatever that thing is aroun my catalitic convertor, it rattles at idle. It's annoying and you can hear it over my exhaust. How can I fix this other than getting a new cat?

stainless steel hose/pipe clamp from the local hardware store. you are going to need a biggish one -- 5"-6". look in the drainage section of plumbing. trim off the excess length of the hose clamp after tightening (it might rattle otherwise).

OR remove the heat shield. i had to do this on my fords. its mostly safe (dont park on grass).

If you wish to remain stock, just head to a general exhaust/repair shop and ask them if they will re-weld it for you. It stays on, stops rattling, and only costs about... 15 dollars?

P.S. I ripped mine off eventually, but for those who are weary of this, the above is suggested.
