Would the hooker aero cat back for the LS1 fit on my 1999 v6? Would it be hard to make it fit?

hm, not all LS1s have true duals, actually SS's and WS6's dont come with true duals, the only LS1's that do are the Corvette and GTO

i think that all that is needed is some sort of slp convertion pipe, does anyone know what this is?

No LS1 Fbods have true duals from the factory but all of them have two cats. Usually the best bet if you are going to order a cat back is to get the LT1 systems designed for the single cat cars, but I think it usually doesn't matter since most systems start at about the same location under the car anyway.

I had a hooker cat-back from an LS1 on my car. I also have a friend who currently has a hooker catback on his 99 v6. So to answer your question it will fit. It may take a coulple of modifications, but nothing tremendous.

Loudmouth is made for LS! fbodies and lots of people have it. Just need an s-pipe "adapter" or just take it to an exhaust shop and they shouldn't charge much for the "adapter"

Buy the hooker aero chamber 3" catback for a 93-95 lt1, thats what I have and the I-pipe has the S-bend made into it. The Lt1's in 93-95 had one cat like us so they used the same s-bend. Just make sure to get a 3" in/out highflow cat or take it off.

First of all NO 4th gen f-bodes EVER came with true dual exhaust from the factory. True dual exhaust is a term that describes two completely separate pipes that come directly from their own header to the rear of the car. All 4-gen cars have the option of dual OUTLET exhaust which means it splits into two pipes at the muffler. The newer LS1s with dual cats are still not considered true duals simply because directly after the cats the two pipes merge into one (the y-pipe).

Okay, as for the hooker system for LS1s; it will fit any 4th gen car but the ones with single cats will have to either buy the SLP S-pipe (LT1 adapter kit they call it) or have a shop make you one so that the pipes will line up.

Finally, you all need to start searching more because I myself have repeated this same information several times. SEARCH!!

Are you kidding? You miiiiigggghhhhtttt want to read up on f-bodys a little more before answering like this...no V8 f-body is stock with true duals in fact no f-body is stock with true duals. If its anything like my SLP LoudMouth you can buy the LT1 adapter pipe and she will bolt right up but the hooker is most likely different, any exaust shop should be able to "hook you up" for pretty cheap. Good day to you.

Not sure why this is still being discussed.. I said, I bought the 93-95 LT1 Hooker Aero Chamber catback. It is installed now on my car. It is 3" all the way. It HAS the S-pipe bend, its part of the I-pipe when you get the system. Assuming you have a 3" out cat, it will be in the right place, might just need an extension pipe from the s-pipe to the cat since the high flow cats are usually shorter than the stocker.

The picture shown is not what mine looks like, mine has the same i-pipe but the end has the S-bend, not just a deadend at the end of the I-pipe like an ls1. Enjoy!
