No. You do not need to get a new Cat. Any muffler place can make a pipe adapter so it will fit to your stock cat. I replaced my stock Cat with a 3" Catco because the stock cat had 50K+ on it.
Nice car by the way.

Its a little more complicated than i thought it would have been to leave the stock cat. Part of the loudmouth (s pipe i believe) would have had to be cut to make it fit right, which i really did not want to do. I had originally planned to keep the stock cat but it was much easier and 'cleaner' of an install to just get a matching 3" cat.
Other positives to replacing: improved sound and better flow. If i were you (and i was there just 4-5 months ago ) i would do everyone a favor and just go ahead and replace it. HF catco can be found for less than $90. Good luck!

I know exactly the problem you are talking about. The ball end of the adapter pipe does not fit into the cat, so it needs to be cut off. Well, thats what I had done. I tried to have my friends dad install it for me and he said it needed some cutting, so i took it to a s shop.
