hey i want to know on thoughs o2 sims do thoughs work when im going to smog my car or do i have to bye a new o2 sen when its time to smog it?

Not always. Some places (maybe California?) measure the emissions to make sure it's not going to pollute too much. If the cat is bad, you're going to get an SES. Putting in an O2 sim will cure the light, but the cat will still be allowing all that pollution out into the atmosphere.Originally posted by My3birds:

not all emissions places test in that way; i know at least in northern virginia (and supposedly in all virginia soon) they test not only with a scanner but also with the "sniffer" type that rests inside your exhaust outlet.
