  • Catback Installation Question

I've been calling around to various shops in my area, trying to find the right place to get my Flowmaster catback installed. One of the places that I've talked to, which also happens to be the one with the best deal, said that I would need to get a "mid pipe extension." Nobody else has said anything about that so far, and I tried doing a search on here, but came up with nothing. Anyone know what they are talking about, and if I really need it?

If you got a V6 catback, it has everything you need. If you got an LS1 catback, you will need a little pipe that goes between the cat and catback, as well as the LS1 style hangers.

So since I'm getting the V6 catback, I should just ignore what they said about the mid pipe extension and I'll be fine?

hey dude i got estimates from shops that ranged from 150 to 300 just for installation. then i asked my stepdad hot to do it and he told me all i needed were the things to raise the car up so we bought that for 30 dollars and we installed it ourself. it took like 3 hours and all we had to do was cut out the s-pipe from the cat and replace all the parts.o yea and the cat-back was the magnaflow system for a 3.4

Yeah that sounds like BS, if your catback is for a v6 it should fit like a glove. Those guys just don't know what they're talkin about apparently, I suppose you could lay the catback under your car and look underneath and see if the lengths match up, if so yer gold, if not I'm full of s**T.
