Those who have the b&b exhaust on their camaro's,are the tips hitting the rear bumper? Mine are for now cuz the guy who bent my tailpipes put a weird angle on....Anyway, I am thinking of putting some kind of "cool tape" between the tip and the bumper so my bumper wont melt from the heat. Does anyone have any suggestions for good quality products they have used? I just need it in one spot where it is barely touching the bumper.

    Pics are coming soon......

Did you get it weld on or something?? Why did that guy have to bend your tailpipes?? All I have to do to adjust mine is re-clamp it. And mine is not hitting the bumper at all. It sways more than I prefer though. I have to get some stiffer rubber for the hanger or get new hangers or something.

Because I got the b&b muffler and the tailpipes seperately. I didnt buy the catback WHOLE. I just saved alot of money and bought barely used b&b muffler and tips. So I had a shop fabricate me a 2.5'' I-Pipe and tailpipes...

All I was asking is if anyone knew of a good heat resistant tape or something. I am gonna try some from Advance Auto Parts.

Keep in mind that heat resistant tape does not always mean insulating tape. It just means that it'll keep sticking at high temps.

As an example, at work I use tape that basically thick aluminum foil with a high temp adhesive backing. While it can stand high temps, heat goes right through it, and it would still get a lot of heat to your bumper.

Instead of metal based, you might want to try something based on fibreglass - good temp resistance and insulating qualities.

One more thing - if you put a spot of the tape of your choice on the bumper instead of on the tips, it'll stay much cooler and possibly not even need that high a heat resistance. Of course, you probably already planned on it this way :)

Yeah, I was gonna put some kind of tape on the bumper where it would touch the tip to protect it a little. Something is better than nothing there and maybe it would stop the tip from rattling against the bumper :D

No, LOL, its a good two foot lower than the bumper.

The 98-02 B&B do sway for some reason. The instructions mention getting radiator clamps, i think. I haven't done that yet, my dad just put wedges on it but it seems to hold.
