I have decided to go with the Whisper CAI when i save the money (considering im a teenager this could be difficult). Anyhow, i just would like to know what i can expect. How will it sound? better gas mileage? More power?....things like that.

Your help is greatly appreciated

Why buy a lid? Goto home depo (or hardware store) take off your lid and take in the ribbed rubber pieces from between the lid/baffles and baffles/intake. I got some PVC joiners that screw together and some 4" hose clamps. I also got a sanding disk unit for my drill. Snap off the ribs and sand smooth. It does take a while to do it right. Then just clamp everything together. Paint the PVC if you dont want the white piping. Remove your screen!!! And do the free ram air mod found on LS1.com. I went from 182 to 208 rwhp. Hope this helps you and anyone else. Email me if you need any more information I always try to help.

The 3 " exhaust with off road pipe only yeilded another 10 hp nd the O2 sim/ air temp module was another 16hp but those threw codes.

you dyno 208rwhp with only those mods listed in your sig. I don't think so buddy. I hope you're joking...you're starting to sound like some other guy with a 3.4 on this board.

BTW, you can go the cheap route and make it yourself if you're looking to save money like Paul said.

because it's proven. I have evidence with both. Real world evidence. track runs. timeslips.

doubtful there too. you don't just add horsepower and add horsepower to get your total horsepower.
geez

I appologize for any inaccuracies in my previous posts. I was up late and had kicked back a few.

I didnt just add and add to get total horsepower. Im not the average kid on here I'm older than most of the members here. Even if I have some trouble expressing myself now and again. Ok I might be wrong on the numbers and which mods got me where. But I am putting 224hp to the ground now. and I started at 182. Please dont assume that everyone with better than average results is a liar. Granted there is a LOT of BS from young kids on here claiming outragous gains. And I appologize if I misrepresented myself and erred in what modifications bumped up to what dyno reading. I will try to get my dyno sheets from my friends shop and get them scanned soon.

From 182 to 208 to now 224hp. So you're trying to tell us that you gained 40 extra hp from the basic intake/exhaust mods? Sorry man, Even the oldest people on the board can be clueless.

Sounds like you kicked back a few more before you posted this
I am a young kid (18) and I'm not claiming as outrageous gains as you are. To begin with, your car could not have had 182 rwhp stock. Second, claiming 224 rwhp out of a 3.8 with the mods you have listed is absurd.

hmmm.... so lets see here... 224 hp to the ground?
are you sure youre not thinkin of hp at the crank or something?

i mean seriously... with simple intake and exhaust mods youre talkin lt1 power or better.
they make 275.... and you assume 20 percent loss in the drivetrain... thats only 220. youre lighter and you make more power, so i suppose you can smoke any normal lt1 eh?

hey there buddy. calm down, i'm 17 and would rather claim less hp from my 3.8. that just pisses me off.. "Granted there is a LOT of BS from young kids on here claiming outragous gains. " ... maybe some of us didn't grow up and still drink too much?

Are the LT1's 275 hp at the crank or wheels?

That's 275 at the crank... all manufacturers use at the crank numbers because they are higher.. at 15% drive train loss, 224 Hp at the wheels = 263 Hp... seems a little steep to me... wheres your dyno sheet?
