I'm lookin' at getting new headers for my 96 3800 v6 Camaro. Is RKsport the only company thats makes headers that will fit my car? Does anyone have rksport headers and what kinda of gains did you see from installing them? Also, I've heard of people having trouble with the flanges warping, anyone know anything about this?

yes the flanges warp, but if you weld them they will do just fine. and the hp gain is nothing to write home about. the exhaust will be deeper - the only real noticable effect of headers.6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

CIA http://www.clearimageautomotive.com Makes headers for our cars. I'm not sure if they are any better than the RKsport headers. I called them the other day and its $675 a bit more than the RKsport.2003 Zinc Yellow Mustang GT 1 of 701
ET : TBD
But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun! Yeah, and his shenanigans are cruel and tragic. Which... makes t

Pace Setter is supposedly making a set for the V6 4th Gens. The pace setter site is acvertising like they are available and AM Motorsports is advertising available in January for $210 or $370 coated.
If you in no dire hurry, I'd wait a couple weeks and purchase those - decently price and quite the gain.
RK sports are expensive with a little heart ache and not much performance. CIA's are great but very expensive.
I'm not sure about the pace setters but I've heard good things from other cars about them.
From your headers your goind to see better sound, a slight SOTP boost, and easier access to spark plugs. Also, if your planning on any decent performace upgrades in the future, this is a must have! (why because the guy who developes exhast manifolds sucks!
my 2 pennies!Not a problem, just a challenge...

If you do a search (which I did) the pacesetters get a 50/50 review about there 3.8 and other performance areas from this board.
The pacesetters do not come with a y-pipe and have 2 1/2" joiners.
I'm going to save for the cia's - why? Here's the blurb that that Dan Ferraro from CIA sent me today:

quote:
The header primaries are 1 1/2" into 2 1/2" collectors. They are a 3 into 1
design. The Y-pipe is dual 2 1/2" from the collectors into a single 3" pipe
to fit to your converter/exhaust system. Hand-cut gaskets are now
available so the total cost for all nuts, bolts, header/collector gaskets
with shipping is $695.00 delivered. The headers are satin ceramic coating
inside and out and the Y-pipe is available for the Manual or automatic
transmission.

Which is precisely what I'm looking for (3 inches all the way out & coating to boot)Not a problem, just a challenge...
