Okay...this is my last hesitation... Flowmaster 80's on a 3.4l will sound good, like a honda civic with 6" pipes, or like a lawnmower? I am kinda nervous bout doin it...cause i've heard horror stories..and good stories..bout how they sound. Let me know your opinions.

Actually, I think the Flowmaster 80's sounds better on the 3.4. One of my friends out here has one w/3in pipes. It sounds pretty good. BUT a little ricey at higher RPMS. But it dosen't sound THAT much like a fart cannon.My 1996 Camaro RS www.cardomain.com/id/mustangkiller311 \"Its out-dated\"
Mods=SLP CAI, 3.42/LSD, 180*, BMR StrutBrace,SLP Take-Off Shocks/Springs, Z28Swaybar, DynomaxSuperTurbo,3in pipes,Catco3in,3in Cutout ThrottleBody Spacer, SolidDriveShaft,NGKplugs, Taylor8mmWires,ZR1 rims, RS Spoiler,WhiteFacedGuages.
Stereo= Pioneer DEH-P8400MP, Custom Subthump enclosure, 2 BlouPunkt 12\'s, JL 500/1, Fosgate speakers, 1FaradCap.
NEW 1997 FireBird Formula WS6

I got mine on a 3.8L and I LOVE IT!!! when I turn it on it sounds like a V8. It actually sounds better in idle than my uncles 2000 Vette. There is no raspiness (on mine at least) even at high RPMS, and it has an awesome 'gurgle' sound when I let go of the accelerator.Lenore
Red 1996 Camaro 3.8L M5
Flowmaster 80 Series, Pro-5.0 Shifter

I hate mine. I got a cutout a couple of days ago which is REALLY loud, but it sounds better than the Slowmaster in my opinion. There is NOTHING that we can put on our 6-bangers to make them sound like a V-8. Cutting your cat and installing a 30 or 40 series or straight pipe MIGHT come close, but we will have to deal with rasp and high RPM rice no matter which exhaust we choose. GOOD LUCK!! I love my Flowmaster. I should have a sound clip up at a friend web page within a couple of days so I'll let you know. But in my opinion I have never heard a car that had Magnaflow that I have liked. Don't ask me why because I have heard a lot of people say they like Magnaflow...but...in my opinion just way to much rice for me. But its all it what you like. I mean what one person might like you may not and vise versa. In the end you can't really take peoples advice on sound you have to find the sound you like by listening to different setups and go from there.*1997 Silver Camaro A4/3.08*
Best 1/4(December 17, 2003)
Race weight: 3580lbs w/driver
RT: .396 1/4: 14.93 60\': 2.08 MPH: 89.73
Mods
>Flowmaster 80 muffler (muffler only) >Homemade cold air with K&N 1000cfm cone filter >Trans-go Shift Kit >2400-2600 TCI converter
*1969 Camaro SS*
*502ci (92-octane pump gas)
*2-speed powerglide
Best 1/4:1.34 60ft 9.78@138.12mph (Aug 16, 2003)

The flowmaster sounds great for a v6. You can easily convince your friends you'e got an 8. You won't have the low "growl" of a v8 at higher rpms,but at lower rpms you will. It doesn't sound ricey to me, think "throaty" with less depth than a v8, that's what you'll get at higher rpms. Also, better intakes enhance the sound because of better air flow. Just something to consider.\'95 3.4 metallic teal Camaro- t-boned by an F-250, sold and still runnin\' somewhere out there...

\'96 3.8 metallic teal camaro

...Lookin for black 6 speed Z28 or Trans Am...

I just got my 80 series installed on my 2002 3.8L and it ROCKS. It only sounds raspy at high rpms but i'm talking bout 6000 rpms. I also got stainless steel magnaflow tips. You should definately get flowmasters. Mine never sounds raspy (even at high RPMS)... I think it is cause of the resonator. I may have a clip of it by Monday perhaps. Although I still have 2.5" pipes, with 3" Flowmaster chrome tips.Lenore
Red 1996 Camaro 3.8L M5
Flowmaster 80 Series, Pro-5.0 Shifter
