  • TRUE ram air...question on sealing

true ram air SHOULD in theory be a complete air tight seal around ONE place for air to be inducted.

therefore, if you cover that one spot, the car should die due to lack of air.
well...i put the blockoff plate on my FTRA...
didn't die when i put the lid back on.
i want a true seal!! anyone got ideas?

lots and lots and LOTS of duct tape around the airbox...also make sure you have the original opening COMPLETELY sealed (ya know the slit in the front). I bought mine used so that part was kinda deformed. I went out to home depot and bought A/C sealing (the foamy stuff) and I"m using that as a seal in the front and as far as I know it definately works.

the lids on these cars normally dont seal very good, you can buy some of that foam tape and put it on the inside of the lid where it seals to the filter...
