Will I gain any performance if I change my catback from 2.25 inches to 2.5 inches?

    Also, is it worth it?

    Please let me know.

Is it better for your car - yes!
Will you see a major difference - somewhat. If your still running on the stock manifolds then those will help more than the cat back. If your going to do a 2.25 to 2.5 then I would suggest going on up to a 3. It will sound better, and if you do any power adders at a later date, they won't suffer from excessive backpressure.

Is it worth it - thats a question only you can answer. I'm taking mine t a 3 all the way out and It's going to cost a pretty penny, but I believe its worth every penny all the way!

    Which exhaust was you considering?

i heard that if you change your pipe to 3" you will lose power. it will sound cool , but you will be slow on take off. But in the freeway, you will feel a difference.

        Please email back.

I have heard the same thing 3" pipes on our engines make it a dog off the line. Fusion has 3" piping and sounds bad *** , but when I rode in his car, it seemed dogish off the line, but got better up in the top end.

go 3 inch i pipe and 2.5 out of the muffler that is the best off the to. it keeps enough back pressure but also gives you the sound

I'm going to run 3" because I plan on the addition of a power adder (supercharge, turbo, or N2O). I've heard both "I loose low end" and "I didn't notice anything" from people. I guess an actual dyno torque curve would tell the tale for sure.

I'm currently running 2.5 straight from the cat out, and by SOTP it was a decent improvement. I'm hoping the 3" with loud mouth will show some promise for me.

I guess its all about future upgrades. If you plan on forcing more HP out the engine, then 3" would greatly enhance that. If your going to just do simple mods, then 2.5 is for you!

the only mods i will be doing is:

programmer, and change my gear ratios to 3:73

so, do I stick with the 2.5" or the 3"?

If thats all your doing then you'll probably never see any issues with a 2.5 pipe! (and you'll find its much cheaper than the 3")
