The only time that mine has hit is when the flange that holds the y-pipe to the driver's side header was rotated a little wrong. Just a little note, the flanges on mine were slammin up against the passenger side of the undercarrage. Made a real loud banging sound and vibrated the hole car, I thought the exhaust mount had broke.
Just had to turn the mounts to give them room.
