For a 1996 3.8 Litre Firebird, what are the cheaper modifications I can perform to my engine besides a CAI? If there is such a thing as a cheaper modification, what are some around the 200 to 300 dollar range? Thanks guys.

Cat Back Exhaust (at LEAST another muffler), 180*-160* Thermostat, TB Spacer. I know there are more, but I can't think of any right now.

IMO, don't just get the muffler. The crimped pipe used from the factory is a big bottleneck if you free up the intake. Go for a full cat-back with mandrel bent pipes or at least get a muffler and have your exhaust shop put mandrel pipe on it.
