  • 2000 headers good enough?

I have a 2000 3.8l, ive heard people saying that the stock headers on there are good enough, and that putting new ones on will result in little gains, and a waste of money. my plan was to totally redo the exhaust from the headers back, but if i dont need to buy new headers, then that would save a lot of money, and that would be great. just wanted to hear your guys opinion.

pretty much, yes. the tubular exhaust manifolds you have are damn near as good as headers and you really dont need to bother with buying headers. IMO, the only real improvment in the headers is the y-pipe. it is mandrel bent instead of all wrenkled at the curves.

alright, thanks, that should save me a bunch of money, but now that i dont need headers, i have some questions on the exhaust and cat. I was planning on running a high flow cat with borla exhaust, and i wanted to know what you guys thought about it: http://www.lmperformance.com/1559/13.html

its a good exhaust, a little loud for my taste but a good one. Slightly expensive though. As for the cat, get a carsound hi-flow cat #94009

If money isnt an isssue, do it. I would have bought borla if i had enough money at the time. In my opinion, it's the best sounding.
