Easiest and quickest way..... Here's what you'll need:

- a lapel microphone (usually about $20)
- a laptop PC with mic input
- a roll of masking tape

Plop the laptop in the passenger seat, plug in the lapel mic, and run the lapel mic to the rear of the car. Tape the lapel mic to the bumper of your car just above the license plate. Tape mic wire as necessary to keep from flapping in the wind! ;) Close hatch being careful not to damage mic wire.

Start up the standard Windows Recorder, set your file format & quality, hit record and drive! :D

Violia! Instant wavs and quality sound clips! Not to mention, great exhaust notes now that your engine is under load! ;) No more of this sitting idle and revving up crap with no engine load.... that's where every V6 will show it's raspiness (to whatever degree of raspiness there is).

FWIW: Recordings will tend to have quite a bit of road noise if driven highway speeds with little engine load (cruising on the interstate for example). Cruise at 60 MPH and romp on it and you'll hear the exhaust! ;)

My car was totally stock and I did all my mods in a day or two of each other, including the Ravin. The cumulative effect of all the changes is noticable. The car is so much more FUN to drive now! I can hardly wait for the morning and my drive to work :D Another aspect I enjoy with the Ravin is that it is quite loud at WOT, however at idle the sound is very low frequency and not obnoxious. When 'John Law' is lurking this is a great feature ;)

I think I'm the only one with the z-33 ravin muffler. I have always liked it. I really don't have anything negative to say about the sound or anything else about it. It's a very good product for the money and quality.

For those without web space looking for a place to post your exhaust sound clips, here is a site looking for your sound clips. http://www.exhaustsoundclips.com/index1.html Instructions are also present on the site to help you create your own clip.

Update Report: well it has been about 2weeks since the muffler was installed and it has finally burned in. What i noticed when the car is fully warmed up there is hardly any rasbyness at all up top evn when it is reved in nutral. The only time i gt havy dudy rasbyness is when the car is cold. It is sounding really good now. At about 2300 i have alittle bit of a drone going on but turning up the radio easly tunes it out. At about 1500 it is so deep that my center consol rattles. :D

In my case the exhaust is stock with the new Ravin installed with dual SS tips. Here is a link with typical Ravin prices. http://www.communitymuffler.ca/RAVIN...%20EXHAUST.htm Check with your local dealer, prices vary. Tip prices also vary depending if you want chrome or stainless. There are so many different types and styles, it's a matter of personal preference and budget.

My flowmaster has that raspy sound, its not the muffler, I think it has something to do with the cat..I've heard glasspacks will cure the raspy..

Thanks buddy.

Did you paint your muffler?? or is your exhuast pipes aluminum in color, from the engine until the muffler, which is black. Then you use the same exit pipes from the old muffler, which is aluminum in color. So its aluminum, black, then aluminum, then your tips???

EDIT: Anyone has pics of it from under their car??
