if you unplug an o2 sensor from the cat, you'll set an ses light, correct? well, if you plug the o2 sensor back in, will the light go off? will the code be "o2 sensor unplugged." because i'm trying to figure out a way to get my cat replaced under GM's warranty, and i would think this would work. suggestions?

    Why?

If it's a stock one, just wait for it to go bad and go get yourself a high flow. If you have some strange reason for actually wanting a new factory cat, just pop the band off and break some internals... Use something blunt so it doesn't make scratch marks. Then you can have a brand new cat and the guilt of ripping someone off while your soul burns in Hell for eternity, sinner.

by a high flow cat when you want for 50 bucks taking your o2 sensor out will probly mess it up and it would be funny if they replaced just the o2 sensor and not the cat lol

That would just give you an O2 sensor code, which means that (if anything) they would replace your O2 sensors, not your cat.

Just go the cheap route and gut your cat. That is what I did ;)

Then you'll have a 50 percent chance of throwing a code and have to buy an o2 sim anyway.
