With the CAI and blockage of a portion of the radiator, have any of you noticed a higher operator temperature of the engine? Winter vs summer driving. Long trips at freeway speeds vs city stop and go. The only reason I am posting this question is when I installed mine I did leave the lower section off, yes I did install the portion of it the protrudes down from the air box in front of the radiator but left the bottom piece off for more engine cooling. Looking to here some feedback.

I noticed my car ran a tad warmer in heavy traffic. You should be fine w/ the lower peice in. If your truely worried, I would suggest you put a manual fan switch in.Keith - 99 'maro - White M5 - bumpstick and boltons - 13.65 @ 101 N/A

I noticed that since mine was installed I have experienced hard 1-2 shifts in the summer after being on the highway for a while. I get an SES code that I keep erasing. This continued even after installing the TransGo shift kit which helps to eliminate this problem. I wonder if higher tranny temps caused by blocking the radiator cause this. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the combination of SLP CAI (or homemade) with their 4L60E?180 Thermo, K&N Filter, Transgo stage 2, Pacesetters, Magnaflow cat, Flowmaster Catback, 3.42 LSD, Hotchkis LCA/Panhard, Bilstein, Eibach Pro, 1LE bars, SP crossdrilled/slotted rotors.<br /><br />Vortech Project 1.0 failed.<br />Vortech Project 2.0 in the works
