  • LT1 vs 3.8L Edelbrock Concern

I have heard rumors the 3.8L Edelbrock kit uses an S pipe (part of the I pipe in this case) which shrinks from 3" to 2.25" so it mates with the stock cat.

Am I right in saying the LT1 system is identical only it uses a full 3" S pipe?

dunno, but a friend of mine has a 3" edelbrock catback. start of the i-pipe is 2.5" till the over-axle pipe, and then it is 3" back from there. but he didn't get an S pipe so i can't tell you about that...

I can't answer about the Edelbrock, but the Borla cat-back bolt-on for the V8 was 3" all the way. Which makes me think a bolt-on expects to find a 3" pipe to bolt onto...

It fit real nice with the catco and the 2 45's I got at the same time.
