  • Just ordered SLP CAI, install?

Can anyone link me to an install page, hopefully it will be in before spring break is over and I can get it done... I'd like to see just how hard it is and what's involved.

Anyone have a link, with pictures perhaps, for a 97 v6 install?

The SLP CAI actually comes with instructions, they're fully illustrated although theres no color which is kind of annoying. As for installation itself, its not too bad. I just put mine in a few days ago, took almost 4 hours, but thats because i'm a complete noob when it comes to cars. I did have a spot of trouble with the plastic air deflector, damn thing didn't want to come off (thats where most of the 4 hours came from). Other than that all you need are some basic tools and you're set.

You have a 1999 car with the SLP lid. Totally different setup.

As for the SLP kit in question, it is pretty straightforward and doesn't take that long at all. Just remove all the stock air box and baffles, put new elbow on and fit the pipes in place and then remove wheel well area to install filters.

Remove the wheel well area? Could you explain that a bit more, please?

filters have to be installed from the bottom unless you can slip them through the metal holes. only way to install from the bottom is to remove the black plastic stuff by the wheel well.

You'll understand what he is talking about once you get under your car. You should be able to figure it out
