ok, ive been reading up on all the stuff about edlebrock cats on this board here and its made me want to get one (plus its cheaper). so far i know i want http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...95&prmenbr=361 but i cant figure out what else i need. i assume that doesnt come with a catalytic(sp?) converter, and was wondering if i needed a new one rather than the stock on my 2000. also, anything else that i might need and say, maybe where to get them. any help would be appreciated

you don't need a new one. but you might as well get one. a catco is only $50 from summit also you'll probably want a bigger s-pipe. do a search on both and you'll find what you need.

yay! you are getting the best sounding exhaust for 3.8s!
By the way, save your money and buy from Summit ( www.summitracing.com ) They have free shipping, unlike Jeggs. And no I dont work for them!
2 things about your cat.
AAlot of people say that the new cats are just as good as a catco or rksport hi flo.
2If you were to get a catco, I would recommend getting a 2.5 to 3" one so that it would actually make a difference. The problem with this though is that the edelbrock kit only steps up to 3" after the S-pipe.
So if you were to do this you would need to either buy an S-Pipe, or have one fabricated and also hack off the little 2.5 peice on the I-pipe and get a 3 incher put in there.
That is something that I really want to do, but it would be a little expensive for me.
Other than the cost/pita of getting it done, it would sound badass and give you a little more boost.
Good Luck

Buy the 93-95 LT1 system, its 3" all the way back and through the S pipe... I believe.
I know the Hooker and Flowmaster systems for the 93-95 are like that.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

thanx for the help. one last idea: would it be easier/cheaper to just buy a edlebrock (or anyone) muffler and a catco cat and then just get a muffle shop to make hte pipes? or should i just go with the catback

The catback is 100% mandrel bent and lifetime warranted - if you go the other route it'll likely be crush bent and not lifetime warranted. It should actually cost less to go with the catback too since it comes with the 3" S pipe (for the LT1 version).2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I think most people go with the 6007 14" and it works fine.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro
