It's not really needed. Just stick with the normal intakes for your car.

    Moving to the Intake/Exhaust section.

Let's start with what year do you have?

there is nothing you can make fit your car from something designed for a v8 that you couldnt just buy made for your car for a compairable amount of power gain.

its a 2001 i found the 5.7l intake reallly cheap and couldn't pass it up i know it won't bolt right up if i could find someone with the plastick tube from the filter to the TB that wanted to sell it, it would be grand but i have a feeling i am gonna have to make it work

I mean it's not needed to go through the trouble of making something work, when they make the same stuff specifically for our cars. ;)

If it is a lid, then the hole from the lid is in a different place than on the 3.8 version I believe. It won't be a straight shot to the tb. Correct me if I am wrong guys.

you would actually get more power from something aftermarket than something from a 5.7L

well, you would have to find a way to make the large tube fit down onto our smaller TB and that would be the hardest part IMO. i dont know what you could use, might take a trip to Lowes or something to find something to work.

                              Re: 5.7L intake in a 3.8L

I have a K&N FIPK on my 2002 V6. When I was looking at the pictures online trying to figure out the difference between the 3.8 and 5.7, the tube from the filter to the throttle body is completely different. The 5.7 is a straight shot, while the 3.8 bends and is offset a few inches. I think it would be pretty difficult to make the 5.7 work on the 3.8
