• EGR block off question

For anyone that has purchased this from ZZPerformance...I had to order one because the tube from the header to my EGR valve broke. What else do I need to complete this project? Does it come with everything I need? Any issues with it leaking?

BTW: To Zooomer at ZZPerformance! I placed the order Saturday night, and when I got a hold of him today, it had already shipped out! Thanks Zooomer!

i put mine on, and it still leaks, i hear a few layers of heavy duty aluminum foil will do the trick but i haven't gotten around to it... besides that its just 1 bolt...

Thanks for the reply! Anyone else had any problems with this product, or success??

Redbird00: Is yours a real bad leak, or just a little tick? What have you tried to fix it?

you purchased a plate? why? reason why i ask is that when my pacesetter headers got put on, the welder accedentaly melted through the EGR tube. he said that he could just totally remove the EGR and it wouldnt effect anything. so i said go ahead and he just welded over the EGR bung. anyone with a mig welder sould be able to do this in a minute tops. just a little FYI.

oh, and i also read that it will not throw any code from the mod, yet with my EGR blocked off, it does. i had my codes scanned at autozone and they came up with 2 EGR codes.

my EGR has been throwing codes and my mechanic said that it should be replaced not only for emissions but for long term engine damage, and i was wondering why people completly remove the EGR.
i'm reading the Chiltons manual right now and it says "EGR, Exhaust Gas Recirculation System, The EGR vavle is controlled by vacumm, which opens and closes in response to the vacuum signals to admit exhaust gases into the air-fuel mixture. The exhaust gases lower peak combustion temps, reducing the formation of NOx. The vavle is closed at idle and wide open throttle, but is open between the two extreme postitons...........Too little or no EGR flow allows combustion temps to rise, which could result in spark knock(detonation), engine overheating and/or emission test failure."

I am gonna try the block off plate for resale purposes later on. If i ever wanna sell my headers, that will help!
