hello everybody, i have a 1995 3.4l camaro, and i've been wanting to get a k&n FIPK for awhile now. i have the money but before i purchase it, i'd really like to know all the positives and negatives of installing it. i've done plenty of searching but i thought it'd be helpful to myself and others out there to kind of have all of it compiled into one thread. any help is appreciated, lata!

i believe he's workin with a 3.4, the only major complaint i have about mine is to clean the filter, you have to remove the bottom bumper trim piece to get to it, install isn't that hard, gave a nice growl to the motor, it was my first mod to my 3.4, better throttle response...i think it was def. worth the money.1995 Camaro 3.4L Black with T tops, 5 speed manual

Mods:
Pro 5.0 short throw shifter, MSD Ignition coils, 3.73 gears, Torsen LSD,Mac diff cover, Umi LCAs
K&N Cold Air Intake, Window Tint (20% rear, 35%front), aluminum driveshaft, fastchip tuning

DONT BUY ONE!!!! build your own, for the 3.4L....
all you need is 3 inch tubing, 2 90 degree couplings nad a 3 inch filter..
+ some proper glue...
+ some paint, to make it pretty
all u need to do to get it to fit perfectly is to heat it up over the area that will touch the radiator, and do a dry run install, that will make it mould PERFECTLY
i did this for my old 3.4L, for $40 CDN, it was a GREAT job compared to $200 US for a K&N or SLP....
its all a cost vs. benefit decision, benefits are roughly the same whether you buy or make... cost is hugely different.
eitherway, get a CAI97 camaro
black, 5 speed, t-tops, rockford fosgate cd w/4X6.5\" rockford speakers, 3\" flowmaster american thunder catback with 3\" carsound cat, SLP CAI, B&M Ripper w/leather Hurst shift knob, 5% tint.
http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/id/ianwells100

The hole the filters go in for my slp i just cutted the hole a little bigger on the right side and smoothed out the edges and used some spray paint. Just comes out when i want it to.1999 Pontiac Trans Am M6 Far from stock.....

i bought a stock replacement k&n and modified the bottom of the air filter housing (cut two slots) to allow fresh air in from below the car, in front of the radiator. it's important to seal off the area around the two slots, otherwise you lose the "forced air" effect. made a good difference!!
