i have a slp CAI on my camaro and read that someone has one too and put on a whisper lid, am i smoking crack or can you do this and get power gains?

You can get both. One goes on top of the airbox and one goes underneath. If you car was 97 or lower however, u can only get the slp cai. But in my opinion its better that way anyway because it is a true cold air intake with a cone filter.
