Alright, I know this subject has been beaten to death, but I still wish to seek wisdom as to how to get the sound I want. I cut off my muffler today because of the sh!tty install job where the welds and an added hanger rusted through, resulting in the whole muffler assembly, plus the tailpipes, incessantly banging the underbody of my car. Very annoying, especially when it gets in there and vibrates/rattles. Anyways, I really like the deepness and volume of the open exhaust at idle and up to about 2000 rpm, but what I don't like is all of the sounds that aren't low and deep, namely the crackling and poping. Is there any solution out there that will give me the loudness in the lower pitched sounds, while silencing the higher pitched sounds? I've had a Flowmaster, and was fairly satisfied with it, but it was too quiet in the lower rpms, and too loud in the uppers. Any advice that anyone could offer would be much appreciated.
