I bought a Sucker Sucker.. And I really like it.
The gains are noticed at mid to top end as this obviuosly is where more air is introduced.
The Duct is made from plastic but I have bottomed out twice and no damage to the system. It does pick up alot of filth so make sure you bang out your air filter on a regular basis.

From what i have heard you should just go with the FTRA. That is what alot of guys that mod there car said to me when i asked. If you want to read what they said go to www.fbody.com and look fro SSRA vs FTRA or visa versa.

Meaning that a ram air kit will suck water in if you get up to high speeds? Doubtful. The kit only works as well as you drive. I did make the mistake once of driving through a deep puddle with my FTRA kit, and sicne then have learned how to drive the car with the kit on. Just don't drive in 1-2 foot deep water, it's not that hard really. Or if you have to, put the block off plate in and remove the front seal strip.

from what i have read on all the different companies web sites they all seem to claim basically the same gain. for that reason i would jsut pick up the SLP one since it is the lowest price.

I gave you the answer, look at that thread, it clearly states that the FTRA is better.

Correction: You didn't give anyone an answer, all you gave was a link to a biased opinion. None of those who vote against the SSRA have probably ever seen it in person. First of all NEITHER of them is going to pick up rain, that is a MYTH. It is NOT a vacuum and last time I checked water doesn't shoot up 2ft of vertical space by itself! So that's not even something to pay attention to. Yes, if you drive through 2ft of water something bad might happen, but what the hell convinced you driving through 2ft of water would EVER be good for you fbody?!

                          The simple facts are this:
SSRA is more expensive, made of plastic, scoop faces front, possibly trapping more air. Looks cool on your car. As for creating more drag, that's BS, your air dam creates 10X the ammount of drag as the SSRA which is lies in front of it, thus creating the same drag, no more, no less.

FTRA is cheaper, made of aluminum, exactly the same construction as SLP if I'm not mistaken which is even cheaper so go buy SLP.

If I had to buy them again I might go FTRA just for the fact that it is cheaper, and perhaps you don't have to screw it to the bottom of your car? Not really sure, but I know screwing the SSRA was a PITA. But I love my SSRA all the same, however I refuse to be biased just because I have a certain part on my car. So you decide what it is you want and how much money you're willing to spend, either will give you nice gains
