2002 Pewter a4 Camaro
No Mods as of yet, but this Spring:
Wisper Lid
Borla Catback
Holly Power Shot air Filter
Tranns-go shift Kit
Alum. or Carbon Fiber drive shaft
And may be in the future an LS6
thats cool I love speedvision lol thats gotta be my favorite channel. And I think I'm gonna get the new catback too i've heard nothing but good things about it so I think I'll try it.
My friend also heard the flowmaster on the show you mentioned. I have to find out if I can get a copy of that tape. He said it sounded amazing. I think it was a black 98 Camaro that they did it to.

I saw that on the tv show and wondered what in the world that box was. It did sound good, but they did not really rev it that high either.

I that catback went on my 2000 camaro about three weeks ago and it is getting deeper, though I do have the Catco Cat (2.5 inch) and a customer S pipe (2.5 inch).
On the first day I brought it up to the 5000 rpm mark and it did get a tad ricey. But, now that has gone away.
I am pleased for $270 price range.
Note, ensure the I pipe is tact welded to the right tail pipe hanger or you will hear a rattle. Also, ensure the tailpipes are measured against one another and the bumper prior to welding so everything is aligned properly. I ensured it was done and am pleased.
Get yourself a 80 seris, and 3inch exaust all the way back and it will sound fine. My car has 80seris with 3inch cat back and it sounds like a gt mustang at high revs and at idle it sounds very deep and v8ish. when I bought the car I did not like the way the exaust sounded at high revs but then I purchased the whisper lid and that did a lot for the sound. my buddie has the 80seris with the rksport headers, 3inch exaust all the way, and no cat and the car sounds a hell of alot better then a ls1, lt1 or tpi flowmaster system. I am saving right now for the headers!!!!

Alright I'm fixin to order the catback and I was wondering if I should go ahead and get the highflow cat by catco at the same time? Will it make my sound deeper? Or is it even noticeable? I don't have any mods thus far this will be my first.
This is Patrick Javert, I just changed my name is all. If you plan on just adding just bolt-on's, then the 2.5" pipe is good. the kid on HRTV on Speedvision had just a slp cai and plugs/wires on his car besides rims and tires. If you're gonna do heads/cam, nitrous, or sc/turbo, get at least 2.75" pipe. Doing filter, lid, cold/ram air, lifters/cam/heads, headers, and cat all change how the car sounds. The intake stuff makes the car sound deeper no matter what exhaust stuff you do. If you get a 40 series/2 chamber muffler, I suggest getting a resonator put in the I-pipe, just to sound deeper and have less drone while cruising.

That's if you're running dual exhaust. Our cars are single exhaust.
