• Loudmouth SUCKS!!!!

Man, i am so disappointed.
Mine sounds NOTHING like Rich's car!!!
Maybe it is because I have a Bullet muffler in place of the cat converter???
Still on stock tubular manifolds.
Ugh, its terrible, i'm trading ASAP for either a Borla or Triflow.
Fart can, i drive a fart can now. It IS THAT BAD!

Damn that sucks Scott. Don't just throw money at those expensive exhausts right away before hearing one. And Borla will sound close to what you have now if you don't use the full block off plate. Find someone with a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. Muffler itself is pretty cheap. You can just get the muffler and have a shop make the pipes.

If you go Borla have an exhaust shop build it for you costs less than half.

Yeah Keith, I was thinking the same thing.

Rich's exhaust is stock except for the Loudmouth (and the cutout...at least I think he still has it). He has the stock manifolds on his car, and stock cat, if I recall correctly.

Yeah, argh, i wonder if his rattles the inside of the car at low RPM's. Man, i figured the Bullet muffler would help out the sound not crap it up! I'm looking at what i can get from other peope in a straight up trade, then i'll consider just putting on a highflow cat. It's so loud! :(

I think i'm going to get a highflow, or even a stock cat tomorrow if i can find one and then see how that works out. Damn i was stupid! Hopefully it will make a HUGE difference. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Okay, it is not as annoying with a Carsound cat and no Bullet muffler on there. But it still does not sound as much like Rich's car??? I am probably going to trade. :(

scott, if you want to hear a dynomax super turbo (whatever the hell that means) all you need to do is listen to mine.
sorry about your woes, but i could have told you that from the start.
:(

I don't think Loudmouth was really made for V6's... it sounds kick *** on a V8. I'd just take out the muffler and leave the resonator as the only method of sound control :D

What muffler? Loudmouth system only has the resonator... Maybe I misunderstood that..

By the way Scott...I guess I might have been able to say something ahead of time. My friend had a 99, and this muffler place convinced him to get a Dynomax Bullet. Anyway they rigged it up to be "dual out" by splitting it after the muffler. It wasn't all that great. Mainly loud. But I wouldn't say it was quite as bad as those import setups on the little four bangers. He got it replaced with a Flowmaster 80 after I had mine done, and he was much happier.

Well look on the bright side. Now you can come join the Dark Side and get a Flowmaster 80!

Blowmaster, HA!
I'm going back to Triflow most likely. Or if this guy wants to then i'll trade straight up for Borla. He is deciding.
At least I got a Carsound cat out of all of this trash. I don't understand it though, Rich's sounds so good and mine is nothing like his???
It does not make sense to me, maybe the cat needs to break in now since it is brand new. Still too loud though.
Nino you ended up with the dynomax? How do you like it?

scott, that was my first mod ever. i went into it blindly and cant say that i regret it.
it doesnt really matter cause all exhaust on our 6s blow. (as you are learning) we just have to learn to live with it.
i just wanted to get rid of the stock sound and that darn one tail pipe pointed downward. it just so happens that the shop i went to had this dynomax. thats all.
6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

Man you have to hear this before i take it off. I'd prefer you eat after you hear it.

Triflow (IMHO) is the only good sounding one on our cars IF you have highlow cat and headers.
