• Never heard a 3.8 like this...

Wow, I got my new exhaust on and havent heard a 3.8 ever sound like this. It sounds mean, now when I'm at stop lights peaple look over and grin.

It has true duals from headers, 2 1/2 pipe into Borla 3 in/out XR1 bullet mufflers dumped before the axle. It looks bad. I'll load up some pictures later and put some videos up after I go to the track tonight.

How to I host a video?

Work was done by Randy's Brake and Muffler in tulsa, ok, these guys did a awesome job.

And you'll probably never hear another like it

That is a LOT of air flow, do you plan on keeping the car N/A.

Also on your dyno pull what rpm was the HP/Torque peaking at?

Seems like with the GT2 and that Much exhaust it would be WAY up in the RPMs

when does it start getting raspy? i think 2 1/2 is too big. ya gotta consider that alot of V8 guys run 2 1/2 ( most run 3inch )id love to hear a clip. as for hosting, try putfile.com ( i think thats the right website. )

edit: so you dont have a cat?

Your exhaust is 2 1/4" stock. 2 1/2 is nowhere even close to being too big.

2.5+2.5=5 flow. There is my bad math again

I am really happy you like the sound. I believe he has plans for other things and he planned for the power curve change, at least i think thats what i got from our last talk.

There are a few ol cuda's, RR's, a 442 and a bunch of sc'd nova's around here with 3" duals that dumb before the axle. Only a couple are fast, but you can here them cruising around the corner a mile away like jaws.

It peaked at like 5800 or 6000 when I got it dyno'ed. I don't think the true duals are two much, it pushes out lots of exhaust. I've seen lots of cars with 3 in true duals. Later on I will get some SSM heads and intake along with it punched out and pistons added.

The mufflers were like $300 ($50 shipping) and he charged like $270 for the pipes and I tipped the guy pretty good that did it for the work. Looks good.

I think 2 1/4 is way to restrictive, especially how long the pipe is and how small the Y-Pipe is. I think it opened the car up alot.

It runs pretty close with LS1 and LT1 cars now. I raced 2 LT1s and one LS1 over the weekend.

Beat one LT1 by about 3 car leangths and lost the the other two by about 2-3 car leangths.

I have a video of me an a dodge something or other on the track. I didnt run to great last weekend. Temp. was 101 at dark and I'm going to have to take my car back to get some tuning done, the guy that did it messed with the line pressure on the tranny and it isnt shifting worth a ****!

Your running with LT1s and LS1's now? I'm not trying to be mean, but i dont believe it. 220 RWHP isnt gonna get you anywhere near the 300+ rwhp average dyno of a LS1....

Average LS1 Dyno isnt 300 RWHP. LT1 is like 260 or less stock. Maybe out of the factory under perfect conditions they might pull those numbers but not after 80,000 + miles.

I'm geared a little different too. Some Z28's have 2.73's dont they?
