I'm now looking at getting the dynomax 3" catback for 98-02 f-bodies. Currently my exhaust is stock, so beside the kit, what will I need to be able to put this kit on my car? How will I connect the I-Pipe to my CAT? Will I have to replace my cat, or is there a way for me to connect to my current one? Technically my cat isn't old enough for me to legally replace it yet. Please Help.

are you taking it to an exhaust shop to be put on?
if so, they have a machine used to sleeve the pipeing so that it will fit snug.

I was hoping not to have to take it to a shop since the kit come with all the clamps so no welding is needed. I figured if the clamps didn't work I'd have it all welded later on down the road. I noticed that the current I-pipe is connected to the cat via a flang type link, not a slip over. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the dynomax 3" kit I-pipe uses a slip over type mount of 2.75". Anyone else know what I'll need to do to connect it? Do I have it directly welded to the cat, or do I use an adaptor if I can find one for those sizes?98 White T-Top Firebird
w/ the crome 5 star rims
FRA, Smoothed stock lid,
Dynomax Super Turbo Exhaust
http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=346111

I was also looking at the same thing, but you can do it all for about the same amount installed by a shop for the price you would pay for just the dynomax 3" system. I live in miami where its expensive and I was quoted $100 and $125 for the install which I think is resonable for here, and Im opting for the $125 cause the guy is well known to do alot of nice work so whats another 25 dollars for quality. with tips and all it should be roughly $400 dollars.
All the part numbers are in another post called "part numbers for dynomax exhaust" check it out.
