stupid question... i've read alot about the throttle body bypass on ls1.com for the ls1 engine 'n i just assumed that i could do the same on my car... i went out, got the parts, 'n then looked at my engine... TB bypass not quite possible on the 3.8L is it??? anyone else run into this? just checking... thanks!
You're talking about blocking the coolant flow to the tb, to keep it cooler, right?
The coolant flows through 2 small (pinkie size) passages in the intake, through a narrow channel in the tb that is connected to the 2 openings. The channel is fully open, the gasket forms one side of it.
Some people have put a custom gasket in there to block off the 2 passages. I filled up the channel in the tb with Devcon (its like JB Weld) and used the regular gasket. It still has the openings, but nothing can flow through the tb. The advantage of the custom gasket is ease of converting back. I would have to mill out the Devcon to convert back.
I left a tiny bit of the passage open, supposedly the design behind this is to keep the tb from icing in cold weather on startup, so I thought I'd keep a little of it.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
