      So in the instructions it says not to drill out the hole for the coolant res. Does this basically do the same as a TB coolant bypass? It would keep coolant from entering the throttle body, but what about the coolant touching the TB spacer? Would that matter, or is that the point of the material standing up to 1500 degrees? If there's another way to do the TB coolant bypass could someone point me to it?

        Doesnt the tb sensor tell the temp of the coolant? wouldnt that hurt the engine someohow if the coolant doesnt enter that hole that it was designed 2 enter?

          Where those 2 holes are in the gasket, the tb has a channel going from one hole to the other. If you stand the tb on it's end, with the gasket up, the channel is completely open to you. Fill it up with Devcon or JB Weld, and no coolant will flow through it.

          There is no sensor, it's just there to to prevent the tb passage from icing on cold mornings.

              I actually went and ordered a 1/8" x 12 x 12 sheet of Delrin. I don't know how Shane sold them for $30 cause just the sheet alone cost me $29! I think I'll try my hand at makeing one and I'll post my results.

              As far as the TB coolant bypass goes, do I really need to fill that channel with something or can I just use the Delrin spacer to block it?

                    Either way will work. Both methods at the same time aren't needed.

                    Filling the channel was the easiest for me, because I didn't have any material around to make a spacer, and I already had the Devcon out to patch my tb...

                        I would be willing to make them if enough were interested. I actually showed Shane how to make them a long time back. I sold a few in the past, but they weren't really worth my time cause the material was very expensive. I would really suggest 3/8", to get better insulation from the heat. If anyone wants to organize a GP for these, I have the tools to make them. I would rather do them all at one time. If not, it isn't too bad to make yourself, but if you don't buy the material in bulk, it is very pricey. That is another reason I would rather do a GP sort of thing, just don't want to be stuck with all this material.

                          Doesnt one of the sensors on top of the tb tell the temp of the coolant? if you block the holes how would that sensor get a temp reading if coolant wasnt getting in? wasnt it designed for the coolant to flow through the holes?

                                Do they help....

                                Well, they do keep the TB significantly cooler, more so on the fbody than my car. I have an exhaust pipe right under the TB. But I used some heat shielding on my car. If you are driving on the hwy and pull over, lick your finger and feel of the intake, it is HOT, then you touch the TB, you can actually grip the TB and keep holding it. It is warm, but not near as hot as the intake.

                                It is a big difference in temp.

                                As for HP, I don't know. I did many things at that same time. It is only maybe worth a few HP, maybe 5hp best case. But it might extend the life of the sensors in the TB. I am not going to say it will show a big HP gain, but every little bit counts right?

                                It would be worth my time if enough people were interested to keep the costs down. I don't want to get rich, but be compensated for the materials I go through(dremel stuff, etc), and maybe extra for the labor and my wife being irritated with me being in the garage for a few nights :D . I can supply the gaskets and maybe the bolts, but unless I get a good deal on the material, it would probably run slightly higher than $45. If someone can get a list together of people wanting this maybe we can get a more solid number, or decide if people would just want to do their own. I just don't want to spend 15hrs of my time and get 10 bucks out of the deal. ;)
