i dunno, cos for cam you have to like take off most of the front of the engine and take out the fans and radiator... according to the new Haynes manual i have... so i'm pretty sure its gonna be pricey, but doing it yourself is a lot of work. and it has to be right...
i dunno what all it gives, i just know that it makes the car rumble...99 WS6

You need more than a cam. A nice cam will cost you around $300. You'll need to get it tuned, another mmm, $300-$500, I'd do lifters rods and springs, $300... **** labor, search around you might get a price around $700 on the cheap side.
If you dont lift I finger I'd say you'll spend around $2000 to get it done right having someone else do all the labor.
Plus it makes your car very loud, its a good sound, but you almost have to yell in my car.
Its pretty expensive to do. Don't do it yourself if you dont wrench much.
It gives ponies along with sound. I dont think you want a cam though. That is the fine line that can mutate your daily driver into something else.
It gave me the sound I want :D I wanted the HP aswell though.2001 V6 Camaro - VTEC Badged, Abbott Racing Heads Sticker, and Loud A$$ Exhaust

BUILT NOT BOUGHT

14.0 @ 96.44 MPH (Street Tires, Before Tranny)

http://members.cardomain.com/6pakcamaro54

i would guess the best way to get rid of rasp would be to get dual exhaust with an x-pipe, longtube headers, bore the engine 20 over, stroke the engine, cam it... well basically a full NA build up :D2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard
