  • Got the flowmaster on....

Well I got the flowmaster 80 series put on my car today and I'm kinda dissapointed in it. Eveyone on here talked about how loud it was but it isnt very loud or at least not to me. I like my exhaust to be LOUD. I was thinking maybe it could be my tips thats quieting it? They're the stock Camaro SS tips. My brother has some 4" chrome slash cut tips i could get for free. Would that make any difference in the sound? Thanks for the help!

Ya it will definitely be louder with the slash cut tips and might not sound that great at first, but over time will burn in and sounds better.

Just the muffler or the whole catback?

Well its the rear section, muffler to the tips. The tips are only about 2 3/4". I am in college so doing 3" piping or headers is out of the question right now but if putting those tips on will make that much of a difference I'll go ahead and do that

If you like LOUD, you may want a LoudMouth system... go to the website in my sig and then to the mods section and down to the engline mods for a sound clip.

well first, you need to let it break in. second, yes, the other tips will make it alittle louder and will probably change the sound for the better. third, its not going to be that loud cause well, its a muffler. alot of the other loud exhaust systems dont have mufflers, they use resenators and such.

Be glad its not loud, mine was loud, and being loud does not equal sounding good.

It sounds better as time goes on. Mine got deeper and deeper for about a month til it got how it is now.
