Even without headers, the stock y-pipe outlet is 3". The Carsound Converter I ordered was #94009 witch is 3 in/out. I had to custom make a 3" to 2 1/2" reducer, but it was fairly easy. High flow converter and cat-back is one of the best mods for our cars! IMO ;)

The stock y-pipe and y-pipe for headers both have a 3" collector going into the converter. It's the post-converter piping that you'll either need to downsize or install a 3" system going to the muffler. I haven't installed a 3" cat-back yet, so I put a 3" (on the back of the converter) to a 2 1/2" reducer to fit the rest of the exhaust going to the muffler.
Once you're under there and looking at things, you'll see what I mean.
