  • dynomax bullet muffler and....

ok so here is what i have on my car...it is a v force flo pro some muffler from the muffler shop well it has a good amount of rasp, i was wanting to put A dynomax bullet muffler in the midpipe, well all that is stock, would it be worth it, or i might get a flowmaster muffler and dynomax muffler with the stock piping to the cat would that sound good, please help i know a good bit and have been reading up but it is a money issue etc...

For power, get rid of the cat. But realize that the cat reduces sound more than the muffler does, so it will be quite a bit louder.

i think my car sounds very good. i have a 3.4, so its a different motor. but close to the same setup as your talking about. i have pacesetter headers, a high flow cat, a 18" bullet muffler in my I pipe, 80 series flowmaster, and 2.75 piping. the high flow cat or no cat sounds like crap, there is way too much rasp. the bullet muffler gets rid of almost all of it. do you have a cat on now? if its a money issue just buy a dynomax bullet and have a shop put it on for you. that would be the cheapest way.

either one would work, but i put my bullet muffler in the mid pipe, i did not put it where my cat was. dynomax also has a 12in bullet muffler if you want it to be a little louder, so you can consider that. i did not notice any loss of performance from it, but it made the exhaust sound a whole lot better. i even thought about having two bullet mufflers, one in the mid pipe and one in place of the cat. my high flow cat barely sounded any better than when i had no cat. but since i have emission testing, i had to have it. i think with two bullets, it would like super good.

My bullet muffler really helped out my sound, the rasp is gone, it is deeper sounding. I got mine at Summit. I have a FF cat too. Stock Z-28 for everything else. I have CI headers. I wonder what two would sound like too.
