  • Throttle trouble

Yes I am aware this is a repost but I thought it might be a little more fit for this forum.

Since I have had my Firebird I have a throttle problem on it. The dealer is trying 2 find it they have tried pullin codes 2 no avail. What it does is a lot of times when I go 2 coast it just cuts out almost like a misfire and will just throw you forward. I was thinking maybe a bad trottle body or throttle position sensor or maybe a MAF. The dealer will hopefully look @ it 2morrow and have a idea or solution for me. Anyone have any ideas???

Check if the hose connected to the throttle body is connected very tight...Because when the hose is disconnected from the throttle body the car will tend to throttle hard or die out....Now, if you stump that gas pedal all the way, the hose could be moving out of it's spot with all that force.

see my reply in general tech. i think that is where this one belongs anyway...
iac may not be staying open long enough to gradually bring rpm's down, and the sudden throttle closing can do this. kind of like a carburetor with no dashpot.

also could be in throttle pos sensor, throttle pos. actuator, accel pedal pos sensors, etc. 02 models use drive by wire throttle. possible problem in circuit (path) for these sensor/actuators as well.
if in warranty let dealer handle it...
