exhaust rattle

hey i just put on a flowmaster 3 inch cat back exhaust, it sounds great but there is a gross sounding rattle. Has anybody else encountered this problem?

could be a heat sheild. after i got my flowmaster catback i had a rattle. check around the middle of the exhaust pipe on the car. there is a little 7-8inch heat shield right there. i pulled it off and had no more rattles.

Or, if you have a metal cutting saw, just pull of the heat shield and look for where it's freshly worn. Then extend the hole that's already there. That way you can keep most of the shield and get rid of the rattle.

hey is there anychance you can give me a picture of where this is located or what the piece looks like? i have the same problem but i cant locate this sheild.

Well if u clamped the exhaust on youll always have rattles. There is like 5 clamps on that cat back all can and will loosen up.
