I just recently bought my bird and want to start working on the exhaust and i dont know much about it. I was told that putting headers on would be pointless without other performance parts. Should I just put flowmaster system on it for now.

It is not pointless. If you have the money i would go ahead and get the headers if not just get the catback in a 3" size. that is my take on the whole thing and now i will go back to my hole.1996 Metalic Bule Camaro: no cat BORLA muffler 245-50-16 falken 502\'s descreened MAF 1pc driveshaft

soon to come: fixing that dagum Quarter Panel that i jacked up.

Heartland Heat V6 <----CO-FOUNDER

NEED INSURANCE?

(It's a 99' firbird.) I am looking more for performance but i figured doing a catback with 3" diameter pipes would make it sound better too. I have read some posts from people who said that after like 2500 rpms it sounded bad. So as long as i can avoid that, its cool with me. btw- By just doing catback for now, how much hp can i expect to gain? ~Thanks for the help

The "best sound" is different for each person, although I bet yours sounds pretty good. I liked my flowmaster but, I loved my cutout, I never closed it.2005 Cavalier LS Sport M5
http://members.cardomain.com/firefighter8615

Kind shy on back pressure though wasnt it? I like my flowmaster.
I've heard the borla XR-1 is a bad sounding muffler. When I get some true duals I think I'll try the XR1 bullet mufflers.2001 V6 Camaro - VTEC Badged, Abbott Racing Heads Sticker, and Loud A$$ Exhaust

BUILT NOT BOUGHT

14.0 @ 96.44 MPH (Street Tires, Before Tranny)

http://members.cardomain.com/6pakcamaro54
