well, i have a problem with my b&b catback. i have had it on for awhile and i have a problem with it freaking out at high rpms. what happens is when i hit about 4000 rpms it sounds like a popping. is that a leak? also, i don't know if this matters, but i used some exhaust hangers to immobilize the back of the catback. it doesn't move at all. also, when i had this problem the first time i thought it was caused by the pipe going into the muffler was backing out. so i put a different type of clamp on it and it hasn't backed out again. i still get this kind of popping. oh yeah, and at a low rpm (2300) if i put the gas to the floor my car stutters. any ideas about what to do about this? later this week i'm going to basically start over, i'll take all the pipe off and try reinstalling it, maybe i made a mistake when i put it on. sorry about the long post, but this is really getting annoying. thanks a lot.

did you put some high temp silicon between all the joints like the instructions recommend? also just using a dryer hose clamp is your best bet to tighten down the hangers with, not installing new ones.2000 Y87 Bird M5 with mods
http://www.vzavenue.net/~ngeorg/

i didn't do the high temp silicone on the joints. they sent me the wrong instructions to begin with and by the time they faxed me the right ones i was done with the install. and i didn't replace the existing hangers, i added more. and i don't know how well the dryer clamps work, but i am very happy with the ones i added, and they are already done. what exactly is this high temperature silicone anyway? i figure i can get it at napa or something like that. thanks a lot.2000 pewter firebird
Short Throw Shifter, Whisper Lid, Whisper Ram Air, Holley Filter, B&B Triflo, LSD, BMR LCA, STB, PHR, and sway bars (32/21).
Power window conversion

The high temp silicon is the red RTV stuff you see at Pep Boys and auto stores. I think wall mart has it too. Anyways it makes a tight snug fit when you put the exhaust together so that it prevents leaks. I put it on mine when I installed it and haven't had any problems at all. Make sure to cover the complete surface with a thin layer on the male portion of the pipe before you slide the female pipe over and clamp it down.2000 Y87 Bird M5 with mods
http://www.vzavenue.net/~ngeorg/
