  • Just got a price quote...

    Hey guys,

I exhaust shop around here gave me a quote for my 96 3.8L.

Flowmaster 80 series with 2.5 aluminum tailpipes and I pipe, not mandrel bent
    --- $280 installed

Flowmaster 80 series with 2.5 stainless steel tailpipes and I pipe, not mandrel bent
    --- $340 installed

    These prices don't include tips.

Does mandrel bent vs shop bent make a difference?

    Thanks,

    EZD

Yes, it does make a difference.

You should consider getting the entire Flowmaster Cat-back. It's an 80 series WITH tips clamps and everything you need. Only $270 shipped to your door from Summit Racing. I installed mine myself, easier than I thought it was going to be. And all the pipes are mandrel bent.

Nope can't order anything from the states, I'm up here in good ole Canada, with the exchange rate and dumb border tax it's insane.

Man, that's too bad. My first exhaust system was the flowmaster muffler with MANDREL bent tailpipes and chrome tips. Parts and labor, 280 installed.

the difference between mandrel bent and non mandrel bent: take a straw and blow through it. thats mandrel bent. take a straw and bend it, now blow through it while its bent....

                sheesh..

my flowmaster American thunder catback, madrel bent pipes, tips and all was only 175.95 plus tax. so it was about 186 bux. but i paid a mechanic to do it for a side job..

seriously have someone do it as a side job if your getting it done at a shop. they charge half the price.
